Munich WM/Hordes Tournament Vol. 02 - Round 3 (Battle Report #3) Wurmwood vs Stryker2

Prologue
In round 3 it was Cygnar again, this time Haley2 and Stryker2. I was almost 100% sure that he will drop Haley2, so I picked Wurmwood again. To my surprise he choose Stryker2. Let's see how this turns out.

Deployment
He won the roll and chose to go second (another surprise). My plan here was to win the attrition battle and from there maybe go for scenario.
Game
Everything ran forward to claim as much board space as possible. Cassius ran and Wurmwood ported up right next to him, putting Spiny Growth up on himself and a forest to block LOS.
Stormblades receive though from Rhupert and pathfinder from Runewood and run. Lances and Laddermore flanking really hard on the left side. Stryker puts up Deceleration and hides behind a Gorman cloud. The rest shuffels up a bit.
Cassius runs in position. Mannikins spray and kill one Stormblade. My army shuffels up a bit, not doing much. Two Bone Grinders kill each other for souls. Wurmwood casts a Hellmouth through Cassius on a Stormblade, killing Rhupert and two more Stormblades. He ports Cassius back to safety and then Pops Feat.

He isn't able to do much under my Feat. Lances and Laddermore keep flanking harder. Stryker hides behind the clouds from the objective and Gorman with Arcane Shield up. He casts Deceleration again. The rest of his army advances up a bit. Stormblades assault the Mannikins they are able to see in the forest, but are only killing two in total.
I see an opening here. Stryker is hiding behind his objective camping 4 focus, but he has a spell on him so my Woldwyrds would benefit from Purgation. He is just outside 10" of a porting Ghetorix and outside LOS from my Woldwyrds. But if I can Hellmouth him to the left, Ghetorix would be in range and both Woldwyrds could see him and are in range also. I decided to go for it. Cassius runs up in position. A Shambler runs to engage Ol'Rowdy, so no countercharges. The Gatorman Bokor charges Gorman, killing him and another Shambler runs in position 3" from Stryker. Ghetorix gets primaled, just in case (16/16 is a thing). Wurmwood activates, casting a Hellmouth on the Shambler, needing a boosted 5. It connects and Stryker is pulled our of safety and getting a few points of damage. Also Wraithbane is cast on the first Woldwyrd, the Pureblood puts it in the second one. Both Sentry Stones activate and are able to do another few points with boosted sprays. The first Woldwyrd is able to aim, hitting on boosted 8's. All his 3 shots hit, doing a lot of damage and taking all of Strykers focus. The second Woldwyrd advances, gets the 10 to hit Stryker and a boosted shot later Stryker is dead.
Victory for Circle Orboros through Assassination.
Analysis
Well, that ended quickly. But after two really long and hard fought games I was happy to take that shot. I think my opponent made two crucial mistakes. First I think he would have been much better off with taking Haley2 into my pairing and second letting me taking first turn is massive. I can run and advance into a really good position here, putting a lot of pressure on him and dictating the flow of the game. I am really pleased with how I performed this assassination. 2:1 for the day and on to the last round of the event.
